Predefined Questions
Add clickable conversation starters to guide visitors
Predefined questions are clickable buttons shown when the chatbot opens, before the visitor types anything. They guide visitors toward common topics and reduce friction.
How They Work
- Questions appear as pill-shaped buttons below the greeting message
- Clicking a question sends it as a message (as if the visitor typed it)
- Questions disappear after the first message is sent
- The AI responds normally based on your knowledge base
Setting Up Questions
Go to Config → Widget Settings and scroll to Predefined Questions.
- Click + Add language and enter a locale code (e.g.
en,da) - Click + Add question to add up to 5 questions per language
- Use the ▲▼ arrows to reorder questions
- Click Save Settings
Per-Language Support
Questions are configured per locale. When the widget loads, it shows questions matching the visitor's language. If no questions exist for the visitor's locale, no questions are shown.
Common locale codes: en (English), da (Danish), de (German), sv (Swedish), no (Norwegian).
Best Practices
- Keep it short — 3–7 words per question
- Use 3–5 questions — too many feels overwhelming
- Match your brand tone — write naturally
- Focus on common topics — check your conversation analytics for popular themes
- Update regularly — adjust based on what visitors actually ask
Examples
For an e-commerce store:
- "Where is my order?"
- "How do I return an item?"
- "What sizes do you carry?"
For a SaaS product:
- "How do I get started?"
- "What are the pricing plans?"
- "Can I integrate with my tools?"
